THE MYSTERY OF A PLACE CALLED “GIBEON”

Gibeon was the seat of an ancient sanctuary according to 1Kings 3:4. It is an high place, illumined state of consciousness, and that high point in the silence which man reaches when he realizes his unity with God. It’s a place of encounter!

According to the Scripture in the old testament, gibeon was one of the royal cities greater than Ai and all the men thereof were great and might. (Joshua 10:2). It was upon the same Gibeon, that Joshua commanded the sun and moon to stand still for victory over the five Kings of the Philistines to be attained. (Joshua 10:16–27).

It was also inscribed in 2 Chronicles 1:3 that the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God which Moses the servant of the Lord made in the wilderness was found in this great place called Gibeon. And here, it remained many years till the temple was built by King Solomon and made a great altar where great sacrifices were made.

1 Kings 3:5 says “ In Gibeon, the Lord appeared; encountered Solomon in a dream by night and said (God), ask what I shall give thee. What a great privilege! Kai 🔥 To see God? Oh, you really just need at least a taste of this, then you would understand how great it really was for Solomon that night to just see God.. It was really a day to behold! What an encounter that absolutely changed the life of this great man!

Jesus said something in Matthew 11:28 that “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”. In Isaiah 55:6, the Bible says” Seek the Lord while he may be found, call him while he’s near”. But, It’s quite ignominious and painful to see many being conversant with these great verses and still find it puzzled to come (encounter) Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He said come come come, where are you still headed to? You just need to come to your own Gibeon in order for you to encounter Him today too… Where exactly are you lost now? You need to be found first before finding Him too! Locate yourself first before locating God!..Hmmm O Lord, help help #crying out loud!

Hello here, I want us to strictly fathom three things that stood out for King Solomon and I really want us to look into them lucidly, if indeed we want an encounter that will change our lives in an anon too:

  1. Solomon was a man of His Presence. No two ways about this. If you are not a man of His Presence, you can’t see God!. Who’s a man of God’s Presence? He’s a man of God’s Altar. Not just any altar, but God’s own. It was because Solomon was a man of altar, that was why he went to sacrifice at a great altar. He didn’t just sacrifice on any altar, but a great one. Abraham, Enoch, Moses,Noah, Isaac, Jacob, amidst others were Men of Altar(Gen. 8:20); His Presence. In Daniel 6:10, the Bible says, Daniel prays 3 times in a day. How many times did you pray in a day? What is the relationship between you and your God? Can you fast? Can you wait and dwell in his presence?(Psalm 91, Isaiah 40:31). What is your stand in Christ! The High place that Solomon ascended to was the presence of God, and he did that because he knew Spiritual blessings could only be procured there. Ephesians 1:3 confirmed that too.
  2. He was a lover of God and His works. The proof that you love God is not in saying, but in action. The life you truly evince makes us to avow the nature of your love towards God. Titus 1:16 says “we claim we love God, but in his works, we reprobate”. What good thing can people point at in the house of God that you’ve done?. Look at Solomon, he did what his father couldn’t do by building house for God, and he was tremendously blessed for that great deeds. 1Kings 4:29–30. To encounter God in a different way, you must do something different for him too. He doesn’t do partial, he’s real. Oh! You claimed to love Christ, but how many people have you preached to in this year? How many souls have you won for Christ? In the house of God, what is your remarkable contribution? Non!… Then we claim we love him, no we don’t love Him. Because, if we really do, we would obey His instructions. He said, go to the world and preach the gospel. Matthew 28:19–20. Read 1john 2:15–17, Matt. 5:8, Romans 12:9 and 1john 4:8. Love not the world, but the things of God.
  3. Solomon knew the mind of God. The best way to catch a man is to first catch his heart. To dwell in Gibeon, a place of encounter, you must study the mind of God through His Word. Colossians 1:9–10 talked about knowing the will of God and the blessings attached to that. Solomon knew the mind of God, that was why he didn’t ask according to his own fleshy will but God’s will. He said “give me an understanding heart to judge and discern between good and evil. Meaning, he just wanted to live a life of God and not of the world. Matthew 6:23 says “ But seek first the kingdom of God, his righteousness, and all these things (your heart desires) shall be added unto you”. Just seek Him and find Him, because He has the key to unlock the doors to the fulfillment of your destiny in life.

My Friend, the wicked thing you can do to yourself in life is to know the right way and still be right in your own mind to follow the wrong way. It’s never too late for you to also meet God at Gibeon. You can still ascend to the heavenly places to obtain blessings from God. No life has encountered God and still remain the same. A progressive shift must be depicted in such a life. I know you are passing through a lot in your place of work, relationship, marriage, homes, family, health, career, school and business. But, never be despaired, because a great news about a great place called Gibeon is here for you, what you just need to do is to give God the chance to rule over your life for a great encounter to happen. And I decree and declare into your life that, as the lame man at the beautiful gate encountered God through the life of Peter and John so that he walked, i speak into your life today too that “a great encounter that will make you rise and shine according to his word in Isaiah 60:1 shall locate your destiny in Jesus Mighty Name!!!!!!!!

Be blessed.
